We set our somatic vision for our journey. Diving into Integrated Soma-Psyche studies, where do we want to be by the end of the year?
MODULE 1: DANCING INTO LIFE: FOUNDATIONS FOR SOMATIC MIND-BODY INTEGRATION
Part 1: Somatic Practices: Authentic Movement and Muscle Memory
April 21, 22, 23: 11 am - 2 pm
We dive into a practice of Authentic Movement to deepen embodiment and discover emotional-muscular habits of the mind-body system. We study fascia to understand our habits for managing the neurophysiology of emotions? Which emotions do we allow ourselves to experience? Which emotions remain held and blocked in muscular tension. How do we Releasing Fascia and Emotional Holding Patterns in muscle memory.
Using practices from Dance Movement Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy and Body Mind Centering we build the foundation for a deeply connected mind-body communication.
Part 2: Building Functional Alignment for Joyful Movement and Mind
April 28, 29, 30: 6pm-9pm
We learn functional anatomy and biomechanical systems to understand how our physical bodies have been designed for movement. Liberation also requires that we are fully in our bodies and that we can move as embodied beings with freedom and joy. Many common movement habits are not functionally aligned with our structures; chronic pain and injuries are usually the result of movement patterns which go against our anatomical structures. We look to deconstruct movement patterns and the corresponding thought habits which are limiting us. We build new patterns that lift us, support us and serve our growth. Free your body and thus free your mind!
Walking into Dancing: Healthy Backs, Knees and Necks. We focus deeply on biomechanical alignment and repatterning coordination, learning to walk is the foundation for health. Learning how the body is designed to move and wants to move, we find effortless movement and dynamic dancing abilities.

MODULE 2: SOMATIC ENNEAGRAM: THE DANCE OF LIFE
May 12, 13, 14, 15: 6 pm - 9 pm
We use the ancient wisdom of the Enneagram for psychological and spiritual growth. Our personalities are ingrained in our mind-movement habits, critically, this workshop integrates somatic explorations to achieve deeper transformation. We will use practices of Authentic Movement, mindful movement, somatic dance and psychodrama to shift our blocked potential for growth.
The Enneagram guides exploration into our patterns for self and movement. We investigate how movement patterns can be connected to personality and defense mechanisms. We practice mindful practices to identify our triggers and track automatic reactions. Through the guidance of the Enneagram we look to, releasing old destructive patterns, expand our movement and mind and release into freedom and presence.
In this workshop, we study the triad of personalities and the structure of the 9 basic personality structures. We understand different conflict styles and how these profoundly impact the quality of our relationships in family, work and intimate partnerships.
What to bring: Please bring warm comfortable layers, a yoga mat or blanket, and a notebook and writing or drawing implements that you would like to use for your own creative explorations.
May 12: Dancing the Triads: Fear, Anger, Shame: We investigate how these foundational human experiences manifest in our bodies. We look for our emotional/overwhelm triggers and how they express in our bodies.
May 13: Building self-awareness of relational patterns. Identifying relational issues, blocks and limitations. Where are your triggers? What are your unconscious reactions? How do you recognize when you are in an unconscious reaction?
May 14: Conflict Styles: Dancing our relationships: we identify our conflict patterns and explore how we limit our relational capacity.
May 15: Conflict Styles: Cultivating new somatic movement patterns to expand capacity for non-violent communication and conflict resolution.
It is recommended to take the whole workshop for the most comprehensive experience and understanding; however, we want to make it flexible for people’s schedules to come and learn.
