16. Antistatic FESTIVAL: Klasse Kinder!

With this performance, the bell rings for everyone who has never played an air guitar in the park or schoolyard, or never been part of a dancing gang. It is a special production by the German collective LIGNA, that Bulgarian fans already know with the productions "Secret Radio", "Rapture and rage ", and the series "Nonument".  Their "lesson" LIGNA will teach with headphones, which each participant receives on site. Through them, an audio play starts, mixing narration and movement instruction, so that gradually the class conquers the public place it is in - park, street, courtyard.

The choreographer Jenny Gertz (1891-1966), an almost forgotten pioneer of modern dance and a visionary in working with children, gave the ideas for the piece. However, if you're between 7 and 12, or feel like it, come and join the class.

The German collective LIGNA specializes in media arts and performance and has won the prestigious “George Tabori” Award for Independent Theatre, as well as a national ICAR award in Bulgaria for Nonument 1.0.Since years with their productions they have analized the mechanizms and dynamics behind various groups and mass social movements.

This event is part of 16th edition of Antistatic Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance. This guest performance is made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Drama-puppet theatre "Vasil Drumev", Shumen.

The international programme of the festival for contemporary dance and performance “Antistatic” 2023 is organised by the “Brain Store Project” Foundation and “Nomad Dance Academy Bulgaria”, with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, National Culture Fund under the "Program for Recovery and Development of Private Cultural Organizations", Goethe-Institut Bulgaria, Sofia Municipality - Calendar of Cultural Events and Polish Institute in Sofia, and in partnership with RCCA "Topocentrala" and “Derida” Stage.

Note: This dance performance is for children between the ages of seven and twelve. They receive headphones on site. The performance takes place outdoors.
