✨ HELIOS celebrates 5 years of inspiration, creativity, and new choreographic voices!

From June 20 to 30, Sofia will once again host HELIOS—an experimental choreography laboratory and innovative educational platform. In its fifth edition, the program will bring together young choreographers, dancers, and international instructors for ten days dedicated to contemporary dance, the creative process, and artistic exchange.

🌟 A special highlight this year is the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the legendary Martha Graham Dance Company—one of the most influential institutions in the history of modern dance. The audience will have the opportunity to experience Martha Graham’s legacy through special video messages, demonstrations, and master classes.

🎭 The program will culminate on June 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Toplocentrala RCSI, when the six participants in HELIOS 2026 will present their new original works, created during the workshop.

🎉 The final evening will also mark the fifth anniversary of HELIOS—an initiative that, between 2022 and 2026, has established itself as one of the leading platforms for the development of young choreographers in Bulgaria.

HELIOS 2026 is made possible with the financial support of the Sofia Municipality—the “Culture” Program and the “Mobility” Program—and the Lachezar Tsotsorkov Foundation, in partnership with the “Helios – Sofia” Association, Dance ICONS, Inc. (USA), the Sofia Development Association, BlueBox/BluePrint Approach, the Martha Graham Dance Company, the Toplocentrala Regional Center for Contemporary Arts, the Arabesque Ballet, and the Austrian Cultural Forum.
