Кастинг | PASSING by Israel Aloni /Sweden

Toplocentrala and ILdance organize a casting for the new dance co-production PASSING with creator and choreographer Israel Aloni from Sweden. The casting will be held on 31.01.2025 and 01.02.2025 in hall 4 of Toplocentrala.
CCA "Toplocentrala" is producing the project, inviting Israel Aloni to create it with Bulgarian artists.
PASSING will explore the different ways in which people portray an image of themselves, leaving a mark on society and the environment in which they live.

Requirements:
- 5 artists will be selected (all genders);
- Places in the workshop/casting: up to 20
- Applicants are required to be professional artists/dancers with substantial stage experience, with interests in the physical expression of the corporeal through articulation and narrative.
- Artists need to be comfortable blurring the lines between art and reality – working with exposed and vulnerable honesty and sincerity from their personal experiences, and comfortable with improvisation and tasking both in the creative process and performance.
- Selected artists must feel comfortable improvising during the creative process and during the final performance.
- Language: English (good conversational level)
- Age: Over 18. Priority is given to artists over 30 years old.

Applicants must be free during the following periods:
- Casting/workshop: 31.01.2025 from 17:00 to 21:00 and 01.02.2025 from 10:00 to 16:00
- Creation process: 18.08.2025 – 02.09.2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Rehearsal: 09/03/2025 – all day
- PREMIERE: 04.09.2025 – all day

Timeline:
- Application period: until 13.12.2024
- Processing of applications: 13.12.2024 to 20.12.2024
-Announcement of selected participants: until 23.12.2024

TO APPLY: Send an email by 13.12.2024 with the title Casting PASSING to d.kisova@toplocentrala.bg, which should contain:
- CV (in English)
- A letter of motivation with an answer to the question "Why do you want to participate in the new PASSING project?" (in English) оr 1 min. long video with an answer of the same question.
- Video references (1 to 3 videos) showcasing your artistry (up to 5 minutes for each video)
All applicants will receive an email by 23.12.2024 with an answer as to whether they have been selected to participate in the casting.

*Selected participants will receive artistic fee for the creation process and the performances.
