“Curses” is a lecture-performance, research, a mutual-therapy attempt, dedicated to the foul language. With that performance we pay our respects to vulgarisms, curses and swearing as a universal language. Staying true to our duty to civilization, we will follow the person’s motivation to say that he spits on you, instead of doing it. Or to curse instead of hitting and thus mark the beginning of culture. We will follow the limits of using the fault language in social context, inviting the audience to shared pleasure, understanding that together we are violating an unwritten prohibition.
Similar to the previous two performances of the trilogy (“Lists” and “Descriptions. Before you fall asleep.”), you will recognize short excerpts from literary works of different genres and times of writing. Among them: Shakespeare (translated by Valeri Petrov), John Donne (translated by Kristin Dimitrova), Catullus (translated by Yana Bukova), François Villon (translated by Kiril Kadiyski), Freud, Koteska, Dolto etc.
