Naaljos Ljom concert

FREE ENTRANCE

Through studies and analysis of archive recordings the band Naaljos Ljom has made its own interpretation of Norwegian folk tunes. Morten and Anders do not have any background in traditional music themselves, so the approach happens through their previous experiences in heavy metal, fluxus techno, and noise rock.

In 2019 they presented their first piece, "Lur og dekor - i kvardag og dommedag", at the Only Connect festival in Stavanger, Norway. The music was performed by Stavanger Symphony Orchestra together with Morten and Anders as soloists. Ilan Volkov was the conductor and both Nrk and BBC broadcasted the performance.
The end of 2019 also saw the same piece performed at the "Save festival" in Moscow where Naaljos Ljom played together with the Kymatic orchestra.
Naaljos Ljom have since the release of their debut album in 2021 and attended festivals such as UH- Fest (HU), Rewire (NL), Unsound (PL), Sonic Protest (FR), Wonderful World (NO), Folkemusikkveka (NO), Elevate festival (AT).
