Pianissimo

Theater Studio Persona

"The second premiere of the play *Pianissimo (pianissimo: very softly)," held on March 26, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin on the eve of International Theater Day—March 27.

The production, realized by the “Theater Studio Persona” Association, is a dramaturgical collage by Maria Kasimova-Moase based on the novel “The Pianist” by Elfriede Jelinek and bears the distinctive directorial signature of Vazkresia Vihrova. The production unfolds an uncompromising and painfully candid portrait of the mechanisms of power—within the family, social roles, and the intimate world of the individual—and their distorted reflection in aggressive erotic fantasies and dependencies.
Through the stage design by Zarko Uzunov and the evocative music by Asen Avramov, the production creates a tense and hypnotic atmosphere in which the performances of Yanitsa Atanasova, Antoaneta Petrova, Asya Ivanova, and Tsvetomir Lazarov stand out for their dedication and psychological depth.

“Pianissimo” does not merely tell a story—it provokes, unsettles, and confronts the audience with their own fears, limitations, and repressed impulses. As Jelinek’s text itself suggests, the performance acts as a mirror in which everyone can recognize a part of themselves. “PIANISSIMO” (pianissimo: very softly) is project BG-RRP-11.020-0185 by the “THEATER STUDIO PERSONA” association, funded by NextGenerationEU through the EU Recovery and Resilience Plan.
We thank the large audience that shared this powerful theatrical evening with us and turned the event into a true celebration of art!
And to all our friends in Bulgaria, we highly recommend seeing the performance, which will be touring various cities.”
