"Text, Action, Space" is a master class by theater director Elena Panayotova, aimed at mastering key skills for stage interpretation. Through work on excerpts from classical plays, active analysis, various ways of constructing mise-en-scène and dynamic work in the stage space will be explored.

Within 5 days, participants will gain knowledge about how a text is translated into stage action; what distinguishes internal from physical action; how space becomes a partner in building a scene.

The workshop is suitable for both professional actors and directors, as well as for students of the performing arts.

Participants will acquire:

✅ Skills in effective analysis of a dramaturgical text

✅ Deeper understanding of the acting and directing interaction

✅ Skills for improvisation, observation and stage score construction

✅ Stage experience in working together with professional participants

✅ Development of stage imagination and compositional thinking

The last day will end with a demonstration in front of an audience with free admission.

⭐ Elena Panayotova is a theater director, educator and producer who has played a key role in the emergence of new trends and forms in theater practices in the last twenty-five years in our country. Her performances have participated in many national and European festivals in Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA, etc. Winner of national and international awards for over forty dramatic, puppet and opera productions. She was a long-time teacher of acting and directing at the New Bulgarian University and the University of the Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Guest lecturer at the National University of San Jose, Costa Rica and leader of theater training workshops in Europe and Africa.

Head of the international program "Artists for Children and Youth". The projects he leads in the field of art and education involve over 5,000 children and young people in disadvantaged situations and over 300 artists from four continents.

Author of the book "Applied Theatre: Theory and Practices from Bulgaria to Africa".
